The house
29 Madeira Hostel sits on one of the oldest and quietest streets in the centre of Funchal, in a house built in 1937. The decoration draws on the island's crafts, above all its wickerwork.
There are double rooms and beds in four-bed dormitories, a guest kitchen, a lounge and a patio with a terrace to end the day. Bed linen and bath towels are included.
Reception is open from 8 am to 10 pm. You can leave your luggage in storage, and airport transfers and laundry are available on request, for a fee. The house has three floors and no lift.
